My name is Sеrgеy. I work with the body, rope and emotions.
I come from Chuvashia, homeland of an ethnic group with Central Asian roots, located in the Volga Uplands in Russia.
My first encounter with rope bondage was there around 1999 as experiments with one passionate girlfriend, who tied me.
It was great fun, so I realised, I must go deeper and learn how to tie by myself!
However, it took years before I was really able to begin. I moved to Moscow, a vibrant city of opportunities,
my life in the first decade of the 2000s was heavily linked with my career and I had many business trips abroad.
One day, without really planning it, I found myself living in Switzerland.
Around 2014-2015 residing in Bern I started a continuous shibari practice as a rigger together with my wife.
She is my adorable life partner and also my best rope partner since then!
In 2018 I had the chance to meet for the first time the Tokyo kinbaku grandmaster Osada Steve who visited Switzerland during his European trip.
I was totally fascinated by his way of creating a non-verbal dialogue with a partner in a rope session and wanted to know more about it!
From 2019 to 2024 I had a memorable time learning Osada style of tying (Osada-ryu) intensively at an affiliated studio in Switzerland.
This part of my shibari journey is currently finished with the Kyu 5 certificate.
Osada-ryu with its multifaceted emotional approach to shibari still attracts me,
I'm always open to enriching my knowledge from various sources though.
I take the opportunity to learn from other rope masters and continue to study.
In 2021 I opened my Kinbaku Studio Bern.
It's the place where I continue my practice and give shibari tuition.
