Kinbaku Studio Bern is a private non-commercial initiative intended to promote the Japanese rope bondage art shibari/kinbaku in Switzerland.

Personal introduction

Rigger

My name is Sergey. I started continuous practice as a rigger - a person who ties actively - in summer 2015 with my wife, learning from Markus aka Ibinuphis — a co-founder of the shibari space Secret56 in Switzerland. My wife is still my adorable rope partner and Markus is still my highly appreciated teacher.

In 2018 I had a chance to meet for the first time the Tokyo kinbaku grandmaster Osada Steve who was visiting Switzerland during his European trip. I was totally excited about his way of making a non-verbal dialog with the partner in a rope session. Then luckily at the beginning of 2019 I began my way as an Osada-ryu student at the freshly baptized Osada-ryu Swiss dojo Secret56.

Osada-ryu means the school of Osada — its many-sided emotional approach to shibari influences me the most. I am always open to enrich my knowledge from other sources too though. I participated in various workshops from other European rope masters and keep studying constantly.

Kinbaku Studio Bern

In autumn 2021 my little rope studio went live. It's the place where I continue the practice, organize rope jams and give shibari tuition. Check out what I offer there and feel free to contact me!

The place is easily accessible by car and public transport. Arrival by RBS train S7 from Bern, station «Deisswil» (bei Stettlen), travel time around 12 minutes from Bern. Then just 1 minute walk from the station.
